MorningZ's Blog

Hello and welcome to the new MorningZ.com.  After my nightmare of a server move, I had decided to ditch the Microsoft Personal Website Starter Kit and go with something a little more updated.  So that led me to a post by Scott Guthrie leadning me to this current code set, BlogEngine.NET.  It's a really slick web application and it's also a good chance for me to get into some C# for once.

I hope to update it a lot more often than my last site version, as this program has lots of points of entries for entering blog items...

To catch up on this year so far, here's what I have been up to:

- Jan through May:  worked really really hard (50 to 60 hours a week) on a new site for work (this one).  Unfortunately all the "cool stuff" is shown once you login.  It's really been a great learning experience to get into MS Ajax and I am now totaly hooked on it

- Mid to end of May:  My good friend Robb and I headed to Europe for two weeks.  We flew from Miami to Athens (through London) and then made our way via train all the way up to Dublin, Ireland.   Met TONS of great people along the way, including a lot of Americans surprisingly, and it was for sure one of those trips of a lifetime that I will always remember.  I've got tons of pics here on my Flickr account

- June:  rested! lol

- Last week:  Picked up 3 g's of hardware to help run Team-Integra and my other little projects....  also moved to a brand new co-location facility and really have the space and bandwidth to develop all my growing projects.  The move from one host to the other did NOT go smooth (story/pics), in fact it was a disaster, but finally today, I have everything running 100% again including @#$% mail sending to AOL and Comcast.

- Few nights ago:  picked up an iPhone.... the jury for me is still out on it, it for sure has it's issues and thankfully I still have 9 or 10 days to give it a decent test drive

- This coming weekend:  off for a weekend trip to see some family

- Next weekend:  My beloved Red Sox are coming to St Petersburg, so I am heading up there for Sat and Sun's games

- Weekend following (Aug 3-5):  It's the third anual Team-Integra Dragon Run, located at perhaps the absolute best road in the USA

- Two weekends after that I am off to exciting Buffalo for another family gig

Whew!  that's been my life so far in 2007!!


PS:  I am in process of adding "Photo Gallery" functionality to this code set, you'll see that clicking "Photos" in the top left will show you all my sets in Flickr, but that's only how far I have had time for so far.... I hope to finish all that next week
